Privacy Policy — Refined Skincare

This Privacy Policy explains how Refined Skincare (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit refinedskn.com or place an order with us. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

Information we collect

Information you provide: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and order details when you make a purchase or contact us.
Payment information: card payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.
Membership: if you join The Atelier, your membership is held by our payment partner and is keyed to your email address. We do not keep our own copy of it — when you visit your account, we ask them. What we hold is a signed sign-in cookie containing your email address, which is how the site recognises you at checkout so your member price applies.
Text messages:if you opt in to our text messages, your mobile number and a record of your consent — see “Text messages (SMS)” below.
Information collected automatically: device and browser information, IP address, and usage data gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

To process and deliver your orders and handle returns.
To respond to your enquiries and provide customer care.
To send marketing communications — by email, and by text message if you opted in to texts — where you have consented. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To protect against fraud and to comply with our legal obligations.
To improve our website, products, and services.

Legal bases for processing

We process your data to perform our contract with you (fulfilling orders), where we have your consent (marketing), where we have a legitimate interest (improving our service and preventing fraud), and where we are required to by law.

Sharing your information

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run our business — such as payment processors, shipping carriers, and email providers — and only to the extent needed to perform their service. We never sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law. None of this sharing includes your mobile number for anyone’s marketing, or your text-message opt-in and consent — see the next section.

Text messages (SMS)

If you opt in to Refined Skincare Texts — by ticking the unchecked text-message box at checkout or on our sign-up page — we collect your mobile number and a record of your consent: the date and time you opted in, the network (IP) address and browser you opted in from, the page you opted in on, and the exact wording of the disclosure you were shown.

We use that information only to send you the recurring marketing texts you opted into — offers, new products and restocks from Refined Skincare — and to honour your opt-out, keeping a record that you agreed and, if you leave, that you left.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Reply STOP to any of our texts to opt out at any time; you will receive one text confirming it and no further messages. Reply HELP for help. Opting in is never a condition of purchase, and a phone number you give us only for delivery is not used for marketing texts unless you also tick the text-message box. Cookies

We use cookies to keep your basket working, remember your preferences, and understand how our site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described here, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@refinedskn.com.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Two specifics worth stating plainly. Your card details are entered into our payment partner's secure fields and encrypted in your browser — they never reach our servers, so there is no full card number here to lose. And your sign-in cookie is signed, restricted to this site, and unreadable to scripts running in your browser; it carries only your email address and an expiry, and it cannot be edited into somebody else's account.
